Early Life and Football Career

Simpson was born on July 9, 1947 in San Francisco, California. He played college football at the University of Southern California and was drafted first overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 1969 NFL Draft. Simpson quickly became one of the most dominant running backs in the NFL, winning the NFL Most Valuable Player Award in 1973.

After his retirement from football, Simpson worked as a broadcaster for NBC and ABC and starred in several films and television shows. He also wrote two bestselling books.

The Murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman

On June 12, 1994, Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, were found murdered outside of her home in Los Angeles, California. Simpson was quickly arrested and charged with their murders. The subsequent trial was one of the most sensational in American history, with a jury finding Simpson not guilty on October 3, 1995.

In 1997, Simpson was found liable for the deaths of Brown Simpson and Goldman in a civil trial and ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages. He filed for bankruptcy in 2006 and his assets were auctioned off to help pay his legal bills.

Simpson's Current Status

Simpson is currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was arrested in 2007 for armed robbery and kidnapping and sentenced to 33 years in prison. He was granted parole in 2017 and has since been released from prison.
